In 1925, Pella embarked upon a journey that would forever change the innovation and practices of the window industry. Pella doesn’t simply craft and install windows, we do much more. It all began with an initial investment in the Rolscreen Company, where Lucille and Pete Kuyper used their Dutch heritage to energize a new era of ingenious window screens – and the notion of Pella was born. Eventually taking over the company, their goal was to utilize technology, but in a feasible way to take care of those daily little hiccups for homeowners everywhere. It was just the beginning for the Kuypers, the window industry and over 100 creative patents to come over the years.

There were several major, widely used products developed under the Pella name, such as the sliding glass door and many, many window styles. Pella is a company that persevered through the Great Depression and World War II, which demonstrates the Kuypers’ determination and passion for greatness, all while sticking to the basics and doing things the right way.
